Stay Strong Stay Healthy Level 2 (Session 13 of 18)

Description:

Missouri’s Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase independent living older adults’ access to a safe, structured, and effective strength training program. Stay Strong, Stay Healthy- Level 2 is a follow-up to Level 1. It is for those who want to challenge themselves a bit more! Over eight weeks, participants learn exercises to improve strength, flexibility and balance. At each session, a prescribed set of eight to 10 upper and lower body strengthening exercises are done along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. In order to enroll in the Stay Strong, Stay Healthy–Level 2 program, you must have completed the Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-Level 1 program at least twice. Participants are made to feel comfortable and are encouraged to gradually build the strength beneficial to health. All equipment is provided.

2018 Master Gardener - Hillsboro (Session 3 of 11)

Session (3) - Engaging with communities - How to learn what successfully engages a community, learn of the culture and ethnic backgrounds and what are the needed improvements and how to obtain the improvements. Session (4) - Knowing your Community - What are successful way to get to know the community and locate weak areas and brainstorm for solutions to become a stronger more healthy community. Session (5) - Putting it all Together - Lean how to combine all the aspects in the Systems Approach for a healthy community and implement the actions needed for bettering the citizens.

Franklin County 4-H Interstate Exchange (Session 3 of 6)

Description:

Missouri 4-H is about young people discovering their interests with the guidance of caring adults. It’s about young people making friends and memories in clubs or other groups while honing their knowledge, skills, attitudes and health to lead in a complex and changing world.

The interstate exchange is a two year partnerships between Franklin County and a county in another state.  In the two-year exchange each county hosts teens from the other county for one week, and travels to visit the other county. 

Registration:

Teens involved attend an orientation meeting and then commit to the program when enough details are available, usually by January of the 4-H Club year.
