2017 Master Gardener Level I (Session 3 of 12)
When: Monday, April 17, 2017, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Jefferson College, Student Center - Viking Room, 1000 Viking Drive, Hillsboro MO
The Master Gardener program provides in depth horticultural training to individuals throughout Missouri who then volunteer their time applying what they have learned to help others in their communities to learn about gardening and environmental education. To become trained as a Master Gardener, an individual must attend a 30 hour classroom Core Course training. Then the Master Gardener trainee is required to give 30 hours of volunteer service back to their community in approved University of Missouri Extension activities.
Potting Shed University (Session 6 of 7)
When: Monday, April 17, 2017, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The 2017 Potting Shed University is a series of 7 classes hosted by the Master Gardeners of Greene County that cover a variety of gardening related topics. All classes are from 6-7 pm and are designed to be fun, laid-back and educational. All classes will be held inside the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center located at the beautiful Springfield Botanical Gardens at 2400 S. Scenic Ave. Springfield, MO 65807. more...

A Matter of Balance (Session 7 of 8)
When: Monday, April 17, 2017, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The eight-session Matter of Balance series helps participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable. If you share these concerns and are interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength, this class is for you.
Pre-register: Call the MU Extension office in Camden County at 573-346-2644
Minimum of 8 registrations required for classes to be held.
Cost: $25 includes all materials.
Location: Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. 3rd floor in conference room A-B.
Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-Pulaski County (Session 9 of 16)
When: Monday, April 17, 2017, 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.
A strength training program for middle-aged and older adults. The programs goal is to improve health and quality of life. Exercise sessions to improve strength and balance include warm-up exercises, strengthening exercises and cool-down stretches.
8 week class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Waynesville Senior Center in Waynesville, MO Register with the MU Extension Center in Pulaski County at 573-774-6177. Preregister is required and a physician's release for those age 69 and over.

MU Extension Reynolds County Council meets the 3rd Monday of each month at the Reynolds County Educational Building at 2319 Green Street, Centerville, MO. 63633. This is a open meeting and everyone is welcome.

Cooking Matters for Adults (Session 4 of 6)

Cooking Matters is a program provided by Share Our Strength, a nationwide initiative to end hunger in America. In this program, participants will learn how to buy and prepare budget friendly and healthy meals. Topics include kitchen and food safety, label reading, comparing unit prices, and eating from all 5 food groups. Each week participants get to take home the ingredients from one of the recipes made in class.
A lot of basic cooking skills are covered in this program. It's a great opportunity for anyone trying to lead a healthier lifestyle.
