Winning Government Contracts: The First Steps

This introductory 3-hour seminar is an overview of the critical first steps associated with winning government contracts. The Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center (MO PTAC) host a monthly seminar on how to get started in the government contracting arena including federal, state and local government registrations and certifications. The seminar will also cover MO PTAC services available to assist Missouri businesses in all aspects of government contracting.

Women In Small Farms - Kansas City (Session 1 of 4)

“Women In Small Farms” is an educational program designed for small farm women (less than 100 acres) experienced or new to the business. Topics include: risk management, ownership of property, financial statements, writing a business plan, estate planning, communication issues, personality traits, and marketing. The course will be taught by University of Missouri Extension Agricultural Business Specialist, Nathanial Cahill.
“Women In Small Farms” provides farm women with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to make informed management decisions regarding their farm business operations. This will enable farm women to become better managers, and in turn, increase the viability of their farming operation. It also gives farm women an opportunity to network and interact with other women involved in agriculture.

Master Gardener Training Level 1 - Phelps County (Session 10 of 13)

The Master Gardener program serves as a valuable and reliable source of horticultural and environmental information and expert volunteer service in Missouri. Learn from University professors, industry professionals and other experts on a variety of horticulture topics. A love of gardening and a desire to learn are the only qualifications for entering the Master Gardener program. Master Gardeners complete 30 hours of volunteer service following their initial training. Subsequent years require 20 hours of volunteer service. Enrollment is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis

Cooking Matters is a program provided by Share Our Strength, a nationwide initiative to end hunger in America. In this program, participants will learn how to buy and prepare budget friendly and healthy meals. Topics include kitchen and food safety, label reading, comparing unit prices, and eating from all 5 food groups. Each week participants get to take home the ingredients from one of the recipes made in class.
A lot of basic cooking skills are covered in this program. It's a great opportunity for anyone trying to lead a healthier lifestyle.

The Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Program is an evidence-based strength training program designed to meet the fitness needs of older adults and middle age sedentary adults. It is an eight-week program, where participants are guided through a strength training routine two times per week.
The event will be held in the Kempton Room at the Fred E. Davis Multi-Purpose Center at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, MO. Class will be from 9:15-10:15 a.m.
Participants will complete a warm-up, 8 strength training exercises, and a cool-down.

Focus on Kids satisfies the Missouri law that requires parents who are divorcing or filing a motion to modify the original divorce decree, or who have never been married but have filed a child custody case, to attend an educational parenting program.

During this 12-week program you will learn practical strategies to help you deal with the stress in your life and to take better care of yourself and your overall health. Taking Care of You-Lebanon (Session 3 of 4)

The Taking Care of You program was developed to help participants reduce stress levels and improve lifestyle behaviors. Over the eight program sessions, participants learn about concepts and practical strategies they can incorporate into their everyday lives to better deal with life’s challenges and stressors through discussions, mini-lectures and experiential opportunities. Program participants are provided opportunities to practice strategies during the program sessions and are encouraged to use program strategies outside of class.
