    Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Level 1 CJ (Session 18 of 18)

    Description:

    This is a low-impact strength training program for people who are 50 or better. The class meets for 1 hour, twice a week for 8 weeks to complete a series of eight exercises with a warm-up and cool down. This program helps participants increase their physical activity which may improve strength, balance and flexibility, resulting in reduced risk for falls, better overall health and greater independence.

    Private Pesticide Applicator Training Lawson MO

    When:  Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

    Description:

    Certification class for a private pesticide applicator license as required by the MO Dept of Agriculture. After attending this event individuals will have obtained their license which is required to be renewed every 5 years. Certified Private Applicators are defined by the Missouri Pesticide Use Act as any individual who is certified by the director as authorized to use, or to supervise the use of, any pesticide which is classified for restricted use for purposes of producing any agricultural commodity on property owned or rented by the applicator or their employer or on the property of another person, if used without compensation other than trading of personal services between producers of agricultural commodities, on the property of another person. There is a $12 fee for the private applicator manual if one is not already in possession of the applicator.

    The program is part of MU Extension’s Health Insurance Education Initiative. Presented by Dr. Amy Patillo, MU Extension community development specialist. The Farmer's Health Insurance Education program was specifically developed for the USDA-NRCS Missouri StrikeForce Farmers Development Project by the Health Insurance Education Initiative State Team. “The Health Insurance Education Initiative will help Show-Me State citizens understand their health insurance options and learn how to get help in their own communities if they choose to enroll in Missouri’s health insurance marketplace,” said Brenda Procter, associate professor of consumer and family economics for MU Extension. Amy Patillo, Sarah Denkler, and Patrick Byers coordinate the USDA-NRCS Missouri StrikeForce Farmers Development Project, which provided support and coordination for the Greenhouse and High Tunnel Workshop that hosted HIEI.

    Helps divorced and separated parents learn how to support their children through the divorce process and how to work together in co-parenting their children. Focus on Kids satisfies the Missouri law that requires parents who are divorcing or filing a motion to modify the original divorce decree, or who have never been married but have filed a child custody case, to attend an educational parenting program.
