Living a Healthy Life with Diabetes in Warsaw (Session 3 of 6)

Description:

This course is designed for help people who have diabetes or individuals who care for someone who has diabetes to become better self-managers of their condition. This program will consist of six sessions each lasting 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Participants will learn to plan healthful meals with balanced carbohydrates, learn more about the benefits of physical activity, discuss blood sugar highs and lows, and how to communicate more effectively with health professionals. Participants will receive a free book and weekly prizes!

Topics covered will include preventing or delaying complications, planning low fat meals, physical activity and exercise, dealing with stress, muscle relaxation, and action plans.

The Master Gardener program serves as a valuable and reliable source of horticultural and environmental information and expert volunteer service in Missouri. Cooking Matters for Kids, Butler Youth Advocacy (Session 6 of 6)

Cooking Matters for Kids is a class designed to empower families to make wise use of their food dollars.
