Stay Strong, Stay Healthy at Family Impact Center (Session 10 of 16)

Description:

Stay Strong Stay Healthy is an evidence-based strength training program designed for older adults. The eight-week long program includes 16 exercise sessions where participants learn to improve their strength, flexibility and balance. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial to health. Other benefits to strength training are that it: strengthens bones, relieves arthritis, helps control weight, lifts depression, reduces stress, and reduces risk for heart disease.

Stay Strong Stay Healthy Level 2, is an advancement of SSSH Level 1. This event takes place on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Pettis County MU Extension Center. Participants take part in a warm-up, 8-10 strength training exercises, and a cool-down that includes stretches and deep breathing.
