Grant Writing Readiness (Session 1 of 3)

When:

Monday, Jan. 1, 0001

Description:

University of Missouri Extension will host a one-hour introduction to grant writing readiness on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Linn County Ambulance District meeting room, 28600 MO-11, Brookfield, MO. (Next to Best Western) Tracy Marlo Daugherty, Community Development Specialist with University of Missouri Extension, will lead the session about what a nonprofit or governmental organization needs to do to be ready to write a grant proposal. Included in the discussion topics are knowing your organization’s mission, defining short and long term goals, adding partners and endorsements, developing budgets, finding supporting data, and making your organization’s case for support to funding agencies or donors. “The training is designed to help organization’s think through the questions that all granting agencies will ask so that when a grant proposal is written a compelling argument for support will be made,” explains Daugherty. “Taking the time to go through a grant readiness process increases an organization’s ability to locate relevant grants and present an effective case for supporting the project.” Daugherty notes that the training will focus on adequate planning so that the resulting case for support demonstrates need and the organization’s capacity to effectively contribute to a solution.
