Editor's note
The following abstract describes a publication that is only available for purchase. A link to ordering information is on this page.
This handbook is intended to help the researcher, extension agent, dealer, consultant, field scout, sales representative and grower better understand the developing crop, its production problems and management practices. The publication's seven sections include basic plant development descriptions, pathogenic problems, insect problems and a damage key. Color photos of diseased plants, pods or leaves accompany the descriptions of each problem. The cause, symptoms, part of the plant affected and factors favoring the disease are all listed.
Tables in the back also help determine at which plant stage diseases are likely to infect plants, as well as which bean varieties are resistant to some diseases.
