This second edition serves as a reference and guide to production and problem-solving for Missouri soybean growers.
Written by MU Extension specialists, the chapters include growth and development, varieties, seed quality, tillage, fertility, planting practices and narrow-row soybeans. Other chapters focus on nematode control, insect control, weed control, disease control, moisture management, harvest, drying and storage, economics, marketing, processing, human nutrition and livestock nutrition.
Detailed information may be found under each chapter heading. This information includes basic and advanced production information such as using options and futures markets, drying specifications and tips for lowering harvest losses.
Illustrations, tables and photos accompany the text throughout. A special full-color center section identifies common insects, beneficial insects, nutrient deficiencies, diseases, herbicide injury and weeds.
